J Cakes

JCakes provided us with the wedding "cupcake" cake of our dreams! We had two different types of cupcakes, a chocolate cupcake with a peanutbutter filling and a vanilla cupcake with a mixed berry filling. Both were the most delicious cupcakes we have ever had! All of my guests raved about the cupcakes and insisted on knowing where they were from! JCakes helped me design the most beautiful cake and it came out amazing! I would recomment JCakes for any occasion, especially weddings! You will get the cake of yours dreams!!!

Hope at J-Cakes did an outstanding job on the cupcake tower for our December wedding. I wish I could post a photo with this review so everyone could see! When my husband and I were in the planning stages for our wedding, we needed to meet with potential vendors on the weekend since we live in NYC but were getting married in Connecticut. We really valued that Hope was so accommodating and able to schedule a weekend tasting for us. In the end, we narrowed our baker search down to just two, and what sealed the deal for J-Cakes was the fact that they are very experienced with cupcake towers (and own the right "equipment" for the tower) and that they are also very familiar with our venue (the New Haven Lawn Club). We chose four different flavors of cupcakes with a 6" square cake on top. There were four tiers of cupcakes (about 160 cupcakes total), and each tier had a medley of flavors. Each cupcake was wrapped in a laser-cut cupcake liner. Although these liners were a step-up in price, they were totally worth it; what elegance they added. Each tier was separated by a square glass vase/divider filled with white hydrangeas, which were the same flower as in our centerpieces. Hope was gracious enough to have provided the flowers/vase fillers at no extra cost. Overall, the presentation on our wedding day was beautiful! Guests loved the flavor combinations, and my husband and I valued the uniqueness of doing the cupcake tower instead of a traditional cake. We would highly recommend J-Cakes. Thank you, Hope!

I highly recommend J CAKES, it is awesome!! Hope is wonderful to work with. We had both a cake and cupcakes for our wedding and everything was absolutely delicious! Not too mention the display was beautiful. I enjoyed working with Hope- she was very easy to work with, understood what we had in mind, and even created special cupcakes for my niece and nephew, who were our flower girl and ring bearer. And the tasting is phenomenal! I will definitely be contacting J CAKES again for future cakes/cupcakes, as well as for our 1st anniversary...

The cake was delicious and beautiful. They treated us so special. Our tasting was great fun!. Unfortunately we only ate the piece for our pictures :( We were dancing so much :) BUT all of our guests raved about it!

Our cake was Delish!! My husband and I LOVE peanut butter so we went with a peanut butter mousse, yellow cake, and buttercream frosting. (Not your typical wedding cake) It tasted like a funny bone!! So good! It looked beautiful, just like the picture I had chosen. I would highly recommend J Cakes for your next event!! :)

I was recommended to J Cakes by my Reception Venue, Laurel View Country Club. We met with one of the girls at their store and tasted several cakes and fillings to get the combo we wanted. We had a cute fishing cake topper that J Cakes actually found for us online. It had a bride with a bouquet and a groom with a fishing pole and the groom had an arm around the bride. J Cakes made a nice wave design which went perfectly with our cake topper. They delivered the Cake to Laurel View and it tasted delicious!!!!

Our cake looked exactly how we wanted it and we received a lot of compliments on it. Unfortunately didnt get to taste it myself because I had felt sick all day and couldn't eat :( But we did have a lot of people say how moist and full of flavor it was. My husband and I had gone to 3 different cake places and felt like they were very unprofessional and they gave us little samples of their cake. We went to JCakes and from moment 1 of our meeting it was extremely professional. She came out with all the samples and they were labeled. We were in a beautiful room with pictures of all different cake, and we knew right away we would use them! Hope is an amazing artist!

J Cakes created a beautiful and delicious cake for us, and this rating should be a 5/5 however, there was one small hiccup. Our cake filling was incorrect. It was still very beautiful and delicious, however, it was not what we had signed up for. If you use J Cakes, make sure you call to confirm your order the day before.

The atmosphere and look for everything is amazing!! The cake was absolutely delicious and it was so beautiful. I definitely recommend them over any other cake service.

JCakes was wonderful! Our cake had three tiers- the bottom and top tiers were vanilla with mixed berry filling and the middle tier was chocolate with white chocolate filling. The bottom and top tiers also had hearts on the outside and the middle tier had swirls. It was so pretty! We also had fresh flowers added to our cake that matched the flowers in the girls' bouquets, and there were also fresh flowers on the cake table surrounding the cake. The cake was delicious, people are still telling us how much they enjoyed it. We did pack up and freeze the top tier of our cake, but I'm kind of wishing that we didn't, because I would love to eat it now! Our cake tasting was also fun, all of the flavors tasted great, and it was almost hard to pick just two. Hope was very helpful. Would highly recommend JCakes to anybody for any event!

J Cakes were excellent. The wedding cake was good, moist and light. Our guest raved over the wedding cake. It was chocolate with a rasberry creme filling. It was excellent. The serve was superb as well.

J Cakes did a TERRIFIC job on our cake - we let her know what we were looking for and she helped design a cake that was EXACTLY what we were looking for! It was a gorgeous cake and tasted EVEN BETTER!!! I would definitely recomend them to anyone looking for a delicious cake!!

Fantastic! It's the best word to describe J Cakes. From our original cake tasting meeting to the delivery of a beautiful product the day of the wedding, working with J Cakes was easy and enjoyable. Our cake- three layers (two chocolate, one vanilla) with berry filling was a hit, people even tweeted during the reception about how great it tasted! I highly recommend Hope and J Cakes for a delicious, beautiful wedding cake!

Hope did our wedding cake with chocolate mouse filling and chocolate cake with white frosting. Since we raise German Shepherd puppies for the blind our theme was dogs. Hope had paw prints all around the cake and our cake topper was a picture in a heart frame of our two retired shepherds dressed up as bride and groom. The cake topper was plain,but with Hope using her imagination created a beautiful foundation of flowers to go around the base of the frame. Our guests loved the design and told us it's the best cake they have ever eaten. We loved the cake so much that we are having the top half of our cake this weekend rather than waiting for our first anniversary. From now on our cakes will be from J Cakes. J Cakes created an amazing wedding cake for me! It was only $50 for an upgraded design and it tasted wonderful. We didn't even wait to eat the top layer; we had it as soon as we got home!

Hope and the J Cakes team made us a yummy and beautiful cake. Again, our tastes were simple and they had a cake in their repertoire that fit our theme perfectly - vanilla buttercream icing with blue hydrangeas on top. Check. Done! Our tasting was fun and they even accommodated a request to change one of the flavor combinations as our wedding date got closer.
