I cannot say enough great things about Denise and Maria at Melissa Ashley Brides! They treat you like family and want you to look the best on your wedding day. We went to Melissa Ashley Brides almost a year before my wedding because I wanted to wear my mother's wedding dress and had read on their website that they had restoration services. When we took the dress in, Denise stopped everything she was doing to look at it and have me try it on. She told me that they could send it to the restoration company to have it evaluated. Denise also took us immediately to the seamstress down the street, La Sarta Maria (they work in collaboration but are not the same business) where we discussed whether it could be altered. From that moment on, we knew we were in good hands. The dress was restored and altered to perfection. The women at Melissa Ashley Brides always gave their honest opinion so that I would look my best. If I had a problem (and there weren't many but we had a minor issue - the veil we bought from them was set off-center on the comb), they were there to fix it - even if it wasn't their fault. I felt like they truly cared about me and my day. Also, because they provided such fantastic service for me, I took my bridesmaids there to look for their dresses. The girls were able to try on lots of dresses until they settled on one. Then, when it was time to get measured, Maria at Melissa Ashley measured them discreetly and so well that - when the dresses came in, few alterations were needed. Some of my bridesmaids have been in other weddings and commented that they had never had a bridesmaids dress fit so well. Denise from Melissa Ashley and Maria from La Sarta Maria even drove through traffic from Westerly to Connecticut on a Saturday afternoon in July to help me with the final touches before I walked down the aisle and stayed to see my ceremony. They made the wedding dress process stress-free and fun! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a personal experience!

I would highly recommend Melissa Ashley to other brides. I thought they had a great selection of really beautiful dresses for less than $1000 and many, especially off the rack dresses, for much less than that. Like other have said, they are attentive but not pushy and gave my mom and I time to discuss the dress without hovering over us. The dress I tried on and really liked in the store was significantly larger size than I needed, and Denise was nice enough to get a dress in my size that had been in the company's trunk show shipped to her so I could make sure I liked it before she actually ordered it. I wanted a particular alteration made to my dress, and Denise also really helped me to envision what it would look like. The customer service was the best part of shopping here. Denise and Maria felt like a pair of warm, welcoming Aunties and they made the dress selection process very enjoyable and stress-free.

Where do I even begin with these ladies! I can NOT be MORE happy with the service and friendship I have gained from this business. Denise and her staff have been to amazing to me and my bridal party. We bought MY dress here, it was the 3rd one I tried on, they gave me honest opinions told me what would look amazing, they helped outfit my bridal party 6 girls, 2 flower girls, and 2 mothers! They were there when we needed them to be, Denise was even willing to sell me a sample dress when one of my friends who had a baby, last minute 2 weeks before the wedding needed a dress so she could be in the wedding. She had told me to come right down and see what she could do. My service was excellent, and I will definately be recommending her to anyone I know! Thank you girls!!

I can't say enough good things about Denise. She has a great personality and makes you feel like family. The shop has a good selection of quality and affordable gowns. She will even come into the shop on the days they are closed if it fits your schedule better. This works out nicely because you have the whole place to yourself. Denise knows all about fashion and even dress construction, so she was able to give me and my bridal party advise on what would look good for our particular body types. She was also sensitive to the needs of my 8 yr old niece in regards to her dress and made a special accomodation without us even asking. I would highly recommend this shop.

OMG I went to EVERY bridal salon in this state! I was all but ready to give up finding a salon that was responsive and actually happy to work with a bride! Even though I made all my apps. two weeks in advance, I found every time it was as if they had better things to do! Then I found Denise at Mellisa Ashley. What a Godsend she is!! She is funny, personable, and very commited to each and every bride she works with!! You can try on EVERY dress in the shop if you want to(compared to all the others who only let you try on 3 or 4 at an app., who has the time to keep going back?) until you find the perfect one. She was so great to work with I consider her a friend and actually visit her shop just to say hi and keep in touch!! I urge all brides to save yourself the aggravation and RUN to Melissa Ashley's!

Denise and Maria are a great team! The whole experience of finding the perfect dress and accessories was so memorable and fun with the help of Denise and Maria. They are very laid back & not pushy making it very enjoyable while knowing what is going to look best on you! Great place to buy your wedding dress, great value & great girls to call your friends. Denise did a great job helping me choose a dress that was perfect for me. I was able to get my shoes and jewelry from them as well.

I found out about Melissa Ashley brides at a bridal show in Foxwoods Casino. The dress on the model was gorgeous and the woman at the booth mentioned that there is no tax on gowns (unlike CT). It was quite a drive for me to get there often for fittings but the entire staff was VERY flexible and even allowed me to come in during their closing hours. I felt like I was one of their own daughters- they fitted me with care and professionalism but were very candid and sweet. My alterations were done by a woman nearby and a Melissa Ashley consultant took me there and hung out while my alterations were done to make sure I was comfortable! The dress was the cheapest, $300 cheaper, out of any bridal store that I went to- and I went to 6 or 7.

I found the perfect dress. It was on sale and discontinued. They sold it to me off the rack for an amazing price. They were attentive and lovely. Made sure I had everything I needed, but weren't pushy about how they thought it should be. Very nice shop.
